Seaford Community Cinema delves into the psyche of troubled Princess Diana and her relationship with the royal family in the pyscho-drama Spencer (12). The film focuses on a fraught three days at Sandringham over Christmas and can be seen at the Barn Theatre on Friday 10th June at 7.30pm. Friday 24th June at 7.30pm showcases the House of Gucci (15) (above), directed by Ridley Scott, sarring Lady Gaga as Patricia Reggiani, an outsider from a humble background, marrying into the empirical Guccis. Her huge ambition triggers a spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge and murder. On Friday 1st July at 7.30pm Pedro Almódovar’s subversive Parallel Mothers (15) is about two mothers who give birth on the same day and is a vehicle for exploring dark Spanish history. The summer season concludes on Friday 8th July with the brilliant Belfast (12A) set at the start of The Troubles and starring Jude Hill, Judy Dench, Ciarán Hinds, Caitriona Balfe and Jamie Dornan. Derbyshire duo Intarsia 9 (right) are at the Crypt Gallery on 11th June at 7.30pm when Jo May and Sarah Matthews combine voice, violin, viola, octave fiddle, tenor guitar, balafon and other percussion instruments to deliver original and traditional material inspired by English songs, European dance tunes and West African rhythms.
