Southeast Alaska Conservation Council (SEACC) and the Selkie Zine Collective have partnered to create a climate change zine that highlights artistic perspectives on climate change for Alaska’s decision makers.
he zine is the product of a series of virtual art workshops over Summer 2020 led by artists from around Southeast Alaska. Each workshop was led by a different artist, bringing a diversity of mediums and styles to the final product. Ellie Schmidt, of the Selkie Zine Collective, led the first workshop and went on to edit the zine. Titled “Hunker Down for Climate Change,” this indie publication is being sent to Alaska’s senators’ offices and small town bookstores around Alaska, and is also available for order online.
