Local Join SDPB for Holiday Bluegrass with the Teels. The Teels, a South Dakota family band, have been playing together for over 30 years. The Teels specialize in traditional bluegrass in the style of Bill Monroe and more contemporary artists like Allison Krauss. Their repertoire includes original material, as well as songs in the style of Sarah Jarosz and The Carter Family, with a little Texas swing as well. The Teels include Clyde Teel (guitar, banjo, mando, vox), Liz Teel (guitar, vox), Abbie Coffey (bass, vox) and Dalton Coffey (dobro, guitar, mando, vox). Holiday Bluegrass with the Teels is recorded December 14 at the Canton Performing Arts Center. SDPB presents the University of Sioux Falls 57th Annual Madrigal, an annual series of Renaissance-themed Christmas dinner theatre performances presented by the Singing Camerata (known during the holiday season as The Madrigal Singers). Established in 1963 by Lois Harchanko, Music Professor Emeritus, the Madrigal Dinners represent one of USF’s longest-standing and strongest traditions. The performances combine vocal and instrumental music, dancing, drama, elegant Renaissance garb and fine dining.
