Can you believe it? Wasn’t I just talking about ThanksgivingandChristmas? Matteroffact,itseemslike just the other day we had our December SDML Board of Directors meeting. Now, just like that, January is over and it is already February.

Februarygetsusrightbackintheswingofthingswiththe Legislaturemovingfullsteamahead. Yvonneandherstaff will be busy working on items the Policy committees put together and were approved at the October Annual Conference. Please watch your email for weekly updates orfollowtheLeagueonFacebookandTwitterforuptothe minute legislative coverage. If you haven’t signed up for those updates, please contact the league office. On Tuesday,February6thand7thyouhavetheopportunityto attend the Legislative Rib Dinner and Municipal Government Day at the Legislature. If your schedule allows, I would encourage you to attend. Back home, the Finance Officers are getting petitions organized for those of you whose term is up. In Baltic, we already have a bid opening scheduled for mid-February. I know it may seem a bit early to mention the DistrictmeetingsinMarch. However,thereasonIdois because over the years, we have seen a drop off in attendance. These meetings are a great opportunity for youtohearfromYvonneon how the legislative session went as well as interact with your neighboring communities.
