SBA Releases Restaurant Revitalization Fund Guidance and Sample Application

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) provides emergency assistance for eligible restaurants, bars, and other qualifying businesses impacted by COVID-19.

This program will provide restaurants with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location. Recipients are not required to repay the funding as long as funds are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) released a guidance document and sample application for the highly-anticipated RRF grant program. While the SBA will not begin accepting applications until later this month, the release of these documents will allow operators to see the application, gather essential documents, and be ready when the application period opens. Both documents are linked below, along with a helpful explainer from the National Restaurant Association.

Don’t forget that SBA will prioritize awarding funds to small businesses at least 51-percent owned and controlled by individuals who are women, veterans, and/or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

The SCRLA encourages all operators to review the documents to prepare for the program launch. You can apply through SBA-recognized Point of Sale Restaurant Partners or directly via SBA in a forthcoming online application portal.

Registration with SAM.gov is not required. DUNS or CAGE identifiers are also not required.

If you would like to prepare your application, view the sample application form at SBA.gov.
