JAMES REGESTER RE/MAX REALTY PROFESSIONALS BLOOMINGTON BOARD OF REALTORS® REALTOR® OF THE YEAR
Being the principal broker of his own real estate firm since the early 1990s, Jim Regester took a small start-up real estate office with just three sales agents to a full-service brokerage firm with more than 30 agents and support staff. For many years, he invested much of his time and talents in local economic development activities and shared his expertise by serving in local leadership roles including eight years on the city council with two terms as president. Family is paramount to this REALTOR of the Year. The lessons learned about helping those in need remain a strong force in his community involvement. Regester continues his family’s legacy of actively supporting Martha’s House-a transitional emergency shelter that provides temporary housing for those experiencing homelessness. Regester’s involvement in the Bloomington Board of REALTORS is primarily in economic development initiatives and government affairs activities. More recently, he participated in commercial real estate workgroup sessions, making certain that commercial real estate has a voice in shaping technology services.
