A national leader in Western art, the Scottsdale Art Auction has brought high-quality paintings and sculpture to sales that have realized, over the course of 17 years, hundreds of millions of dollars and placed some of the most important Western artworks into public and private collections around the world. The annual sale, held live and on online platforms, has brought out thousands of collectors to Scottsdale, Arizona, where the auction items are displayed and sold in a museum-quality setting that routinely hosts the best collectors, curators and art dealers. Led by a trio of dedicated partners—Brad Richardson, Michael Frost and Jack A. Morris Jr.—the Scottsdale Art Auction takes place every April in the very heart of Scottsdale's arts district, which has a deep history within Western art. Started in 2005, the auction house currently holds 215 auction world records. The most recent sale, held April 10, 2021, realized $13.5 million, sold 99% of the art and set 11 new auction world records. The April sale is positioned at an ideal time, just prior to several major summer events, which allows Scottsdale Art Auction to set the tone for the rest of the art-buying season. The auction prides itself for its diversity of art, across many genres within American art, from classic cowboy and cattle images, to scenes of Native Americans, sporting art, American landscapes and wildlife. The annual sales routinely offer major works from the Hudson River School, the Taos Society of Artists, Golden Age Illustration and the Cowboy Artists of America, as well as some of the top Western painters and sculptors working today. 1

Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between an appraisal and an estimate? An appraisal is a set value of an item that may be used as a formal document and can be used for insurance, taxes, and estate valuations. Estimates are a rough guesstimate of what collectors may pay. They are not formal documents and cannot be used for insurance, taxes, and estate valuations. How are estimates determined? When determining estimates for consignments, we look at market demand according to artist, date of execution, materials, dimensions, rarity, subject matter or type, and condition. Estimating art is not an exact science, we try to give conservative estimates that give a 90% success rate of being sold. What is the cost to me to sell my art? Your commission rate will be determined based upon the estimates and the overall size of the consignment. Our commission rate is all-inclusive - no hidden fees. What is the Buyer’s Premium? The Buyer’s Premium, an industry standard, refers to an additional charge on the hammer price (winning bid). It is paid by the winning bidder and only goes to the auction house to cover additional expenses that are associated with the auction. We have one of the lowest Buyer’s Premium in the industry at 17% Buyer’s Premium attracting numerous perspective collectors to our auction. When will I receive the funds from the sale of my item? We will release the funds to consignors after 30 days, provided that we have verified payment from the purchaser. Why wasn’t my consignment accepted? Sometimes a prospective consignment doesn’t meet our specific thresholds or we don’t have a market for it. 15
