SUPPORTERS DIRECT CUP

The SD Cup, SD Shield and SD Scottish Cup are fixtures held between two supporter-owned football clubs. The invitaion only matches have been held for the past 14 years to celebrate the role supporters play in owning and supporting their football clubs in the U.K and across Europe.

A call went out to fans across the country who raised the money to have the Supporters Direct Cup put into production.

When AFC Wimbledon was being formed, the club received a significant support and proffesional advice from Enfield Town FC. That support was cemented when a friendly match between the two was organised.

THEREFORE, IN PRINCIPAL THE CUP WAS CREATED BY THE FANS FOR THE FANS.

ORIGINS OF THE SUPPORTERS DIRECT CUP

The game would be the first time two supporters’ trust-owned clubs had played each other, and given the level of the teams in the football pyramid, was one that looked like it might be a decent competitive game for a club with few competitive matches under its belt. In anticipation of this Supporters Direct agreed to sponsor a cup, but as a publicly funded body, it neither had the spare cash nor the justification

Following this, we’re pleased to announce we’ll be hosting the second Supporters Direct Scotland Cup when Stirling Albion host Heart of Midlothian on the 14th of July at Forthbank.

Three course pre-match meal served to table Executive Level Seating A full page advert in the official Match Day Programme. Logo recognition in the programme and on the team sheets. Pre-match pitch edge presentation with photographs & stadium announcement. Opportuntity to Choose the Man of the Match and present their champagne after the game. Complimentary tea & coffee available.
