Society is constructed of biases that undoubtedly effect the way places are perceived. Places of beauty are viewed as dull just because of who or what they are associated with. What if every frame was isolated from the realities of its context? Standing alone on its own island. A camera lens can create such islands, but a label could surely rebuild them. What if every frame had a label, but its label was not measured in the same way by every eye? Would your perception change if you knew another person was creating a label for themselves?

Detroit is one of the most negatively publicized places in the world. Its beauty is undoubtedly effected by its context. When its label is not so obvious, it exists on an island. Detroit is a fabric of frames that make up its unique identity, if only its biases were disregarded, people may see its inner beauty. Like that of Belle Isle, meaning beautiful island. A true asset that is typically lost among labels; Labels that are rarely understood by others. What would happen if frames were not islands of our own, but rather an island for all to enjoy.
