Magical Manado

DELIGHT NUMBER ONE FINAL APPROACH IT'S EASY TO GET LOST AND FOUND, IN MANADO! I know because I got lost in its history but found my soul hanging around in in its rugged natural beauty.- Scott

Manado sits right on the foreshores of the Celebes Sea. It's the only city that is 'protected' from stormy seas by a wall of malls!

Every evening the city folk gather at various locations along the entire foreshore to watch the sunset and I really enjoyed watching young people enjoy the pleasure.

Where else in the world does a stratovolcano feature as a navigational aid for pilots! I mentioned the beautiful final approach to the lovely immigration officer and she replied, "That's great to hear! Because a lot of people just say jungle, jungle, jungle!" Maybe those people missed the point of visiting North Sulawesi because the magic of flying was certainly lost on them! Even from a few thousand feet up, you can just see how pristine this sea is. It was easy to spot the whitecaps dancing across the Celebes Sea. Splendid because I haven't seen those in a long while too!
