Fundraising Guide
Thank you for choosing Scoliosis Support and Research.
Whatever you do, do it for us!
Scoliosis Association UK (SAUK) and British Scoliosis Research Foundation (BSRF) merged in 2023 and are now known as Scoliosis Support and Research. We promote and fund high-quality research into scoliosis and other spinal conditions, whilst raising awareness and providing support and information to people affected by scoliosis in the UK.
We believe that nobody should be defined by their scoliosis. Through support services and innovative research, we help individuals of all ages in the UK living with this condition.
We witness an incredible amount of strength, determination, bravery, and resilience from our community. Your support helps us reach those with scoliosis of all ages who need us through any part of their journey. We are a small organization and the money you raise for people affected by scoliosis will make a huge difference. We receive no government funding, so we rely totally on the fundraising efforts of our community.
We hope this pack will give you lots of ideas, tips and motivation to get involved in fundraising for us. Whatever you do, do it for us!

How does your money help?
£20 will fund approximately an hour of helpline support. Our helpline is often the first time someone can access the information and support they need.
£90 funds a session with our external counsellor, who facilitates our weekly online support groups.
£3000 is the cost of providing approximately 5000 ‘Know the Facts’ booklets annually to health professionals, into orthopaedic outpatient units and GP practices to provide vital information and signposts to those who have just been diagnosed.

Alongside the support we provide, we also fund innovative research into scoliosis and other spinal conditions. Since Scoliosis Association UK and British Scoliosis Research Foundation merged, we have become a stronger voice for all those affected by scoliosis.
As a small charity, we are very streamlined and keep our daily costs to a minimum, so rest assured the money we receive through fundraising will be spent in the best way possible.
