HE Jansons family moved to Newcrest from Latvia so that father Edgars could work in the Science Laboratory. Edgars Jansons is a skilled craftsman as well as a scientist and has made toys for his two children and built cabinets, furniture and shelving for his wife Vizma.
Vizma Jansons is an accomplished artist, but also has aspirations to become a journalist for the Newcrest Digest, writing a column on art.
Teenage son, Kristers, imagines himself as the next big rockstar! He loves to play the guitar, but he is a brilliant student, too. His father thinks being a musician is not the best goal for his son, but his mother wants her children to pursue what they love best.
Daughter, Zita, is very creative like the rest of the family, but just enjoys being a kid for now and would really like to get a cat! Her future is full of possibilities!
