Best Door/Window Company
1. Hardy Windows
Back in 1989, Chance Hardy founded the window company that bears his name.
“He started knocking on doors on the weekends and seeing who needed windows, wanted windows,” says Zoe Hardy, Chance’s stepdaughter, who grew up in the business and is now part of the team at Hardy Windows. “From there, it grew into the company it is today through years of hard work.”
Today, Hardy Windows resides in a 30,000-square foot Placentia showroom, where the company offers products from more than 30 different manufacturers. Among the most popular brands is Milgard and the modern farmhouse look is big with clients right now. But home owners aren’t just choosing Hardy Windows for the styles of windows and doors that it carries.
“We know that home remodeling, or home building, is a big project,” says Zoe. “so we try our best to be helpful and be an easy company to work with.”
That starts with your first home visit. For those who may be uncomfortable with people coming inside the house, Hardy’s estimators can take measurements from outside, so long as the windows and doors are on the first floor.
With a mix of residential and commercial projects across Southern California under its belt, Hardy Windows has earned a reputation that’s spread far beyond its Orange County base. About 75% of the company’s business comes from word-of-mouth.

2. A New View Windows and Doors
Recently, A New View gave a facelift to its Anaheim showroom, which offers customers an opportunity to see what they might want in their own homes. It added storefront doors from Golden State, whose entry doors are big sellers for A New View. The company, owned by Jamie and Cash Cockerill, also installed a bi-folding door, showcasing one of the big trends amongst Orange County homeowners. Right now, requests for both bi-folding and multislide doors are high.
“People want to open up their yards and make it so the house goes seamlessly out into the yard,” says Jamie Cockerill.
Entrance and patio doors have helped earn A New View’s reputation, but the company handles interior and garage door projects as well.
When you call Metropolitan High Performance Windows, you’ll be speaking with one of three people in the office, “so you know who you’re getting,” says manager Amanda Richart.
Also, the Anaheim-based company doesn’t have a showroom. “That way we’re able to offer the best price possible for all the products,” Richart explains.
Instead, you’ll make an appointment for a home visit to take place at a time that’s convenient for you. When you place your order, your custom windows or doors will be installed within four to eight weeks. Among the requests Metropolitan is fielding right now are for vinyl windows. “Vinyl windows are increasing in popularity,,” says Rickart, “especially in Orange County, where having maximum energy efficiency is not so much a trend, but a necessity, just because of the rising temperatures and utility costs.”
