2. Pacific Coast Custom Design
10545 Ellis Ave., Fountain Valley; 714-962-7500 pacificcoastcustomdesign.com
Fountain Valley-based Pacific Coast Custom Design features general contractors whose specialty is custom cabinetry.
Kitchen and baths are where the family-owned business has earned much of its reputation, where it has applied its craftsmanship and creativity to a wide variety of home styles from dark and dramatic to cozy modern farmhouse. The company has glammed up bathrooms and given them the minimalist, spa-like treatment.
But, Pacific Coast Custom Design’s skills extend beyond these two rooms. Desks with built-in office cabinetry, wallbeds, fireplaces and entertainment centers are a few other areas where the company excels.
“Remodeling and construction is just really invasive into people’s personal lives, in their homes. You’re in their personal space,” says Lauren Mills of Sea Pointe Design and Remodel. “I think that we really pay a lot of attention to that.”
Mills is the second generation of the business that her dad, Andrew Shore, founded in 1986, and she says that working with family on other families’ homes has helped them stay aware of the disruptions that the process can cause. Because of that, Sea Pointe works to “make sure that it’s the least stressful experience that remodeling can be for our clients.”
Aside from making the process less stressful, Sea Pointe makes spaces that are both function and fun, from custom organization in the kitchen to spa-style bathrooms. The firm even turned a former laundry room into a dog bath station.
