1. Edinger Medical Group

Edinger Medical Group is holding on to its Best of Orange County title for the sixth year in a row. With offices in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, the physician-owned internal and family medicine practice has been serving the health needs of OC residents for 60 years and now sees about 140 patients a day.

“We take this recognition very seriously ever since we were fortunate to earn it,” Director of Marketing Lara McKenna said. “We’ve been really proud of this recognition, really proud that this is how our community views us. It really means a lot to us.”

The quality comes from inside out, McKenna says, as the staff puts in a lot of effort into maintaining morale and good office culture, which translates into happy, longterm employees putting their best foot forward for the sake of the patients. And while the practice grew over the years, it always managed to “remain small enough to be able to implement change quickly but large enough to make an impact in the community,” McKenna said. One of the unique developments in the award-winning practice is a new program called senior care coordinators with a team of staff dedicated to helping seniors over 65 navigate the Medicare system. Another comes in the form of diabetic care coordinators working with any patient who needs extra diabetic attention on top of regular health care.

Xpress Urgent Care has six Orange County walkin clinics in Tustin, Costa Mesa, Stanton, Cypress, Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos. They’re open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day for scheduled and walkin appointments, with an online check-in to make the experience more convenient. Xpress Urgent Care has telehealth services as well to protect the safety of patients, especially those at higher risk of COVID-19 infection.

The group’s physicians treat patients of all ages for conditions such as cold and flu, broken bones, fractures, sprains, lacerations and burns. Aside from immediate health needs, patients can also get school and sport physicals, vaccines, immigration physicals, STD testing and more.

The medical group has onsite X-rays and an inhouse lab and accepts more than 40 insurance plans. It’s also a place to go for workplace injuries and urgent care for veterans.

MemorialCare Medical Group has a history in Orange County spanning 61 years and includes close to 40 locations that see about 2,000 patients a day in person and virtually. Those patients range from newborns to centenarians.

It all started with two doctors teaming up and growing their practice before joining MemorialCare in 2011. These days, the medical group has more than 350 providers, 90 percent of whom are physicians, the others advanced health practitioners such as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and midwives. And while the group offers a wide range of health services, it is known for its oncologists, OBGYNs and cardiac doctors, CEO Mark Schafer said.

“Our doctors and our staff, they work really hard, especially during the pandemic, to just improve the health of the community and improve the wellness of our patients and so to be recognized is something that we really appreciate,” Schafer said.
