Who needs air? _____________________________

Air is a mixture of gases. The basic components of air are: Oxygen: This gas is essential to all living things. We cannot exist without oxygen. Nitrogen: This gas constitutes the largest part of our air. Water Vapour: This forms when water evaporates. Carbon dioxide: Plants use this gas to manufacture their food. Carbon dioxide can harm livings.

The atmosphere is a mixture of nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), and other gases (1%) that surrounds Earth. High above the planet, the atmosphere becomes thinner until it gradually reaches space. It is divided into five layers. Most of the weather and clouds are found in the first layer. Colour in the five layers of the atmosphere. Outer space

Colour in the atmosphere light blue, the oceans in dark blue and the land green.

Extra: Can you find Spain ? Can you name other parts ?

Label the levels of the atmosphere

The concorde flies in the S________________________. The top of Mount Everest is in the T________________. The meteorites enter the ______________________. The radio waves are reflected in the _______________.

Use the code to write the following words.

TROPOSPHERE ____________________

OXYGEN ____________________

EXOSPHERE ____________________

AIR ____________________

OZONE LAYER ____________________

CLOUDS ____________________

Now can you spot 10 differences

The atmosphere is an important part of what makes Earth livable. It blocks some of the Sun's dangerous rays from reaching Earth. It traps heat, making Earth a comfortable temperature. And the oxygen within our atmosphere is essential for life. Over the past century, greenhouse gases and other air pollutants released into the atmosphere have been causing big changes like global warming, ozone holes, and acid rain.

Label the diagram.

Polluted river

Polluted land Complete the following text using only vowels

The greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature that the Earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, for example) trap energy from the sun. Without these gases, heat would escape back into space and Earth’s average temperature would be about 33ºC colder. Because of how they warm our world, these gases are referred to as greenhouse gases. Colour in how the greenhouse traps energy from the Sun.

Can you show how the greenhouse effect works?

Can you name the things that are dangerous for the ozone layer or the atmosphere?
