— DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S GOLD AWARD — Huddersfield New College offers all students the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, even if you have not completed a Bronze or Silver Award. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award is universally recognised as one of the world’s best programmes for the personal development of young people. It’s highly regarded by employers and higher education institutions and allows you to develop both your personal and team working skills. The Award gives you the option to hand pick activities that suit you over an 18 month period and consists of 5 key areas: skills, physical, volunteering, expedition and a residential experience. For the expedition we offer the opportunity to explore some of the UK’s most beautiful wild locations during a four-day expedition with your friends. We currently visit The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and North Wales.
