Shifflett, 29, of 601 Two Ridge Rd., Wintersville, who was indicted June 5 for aggravated possession of drugs, endangering children, possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia offenses. The $5,000 recognizance bond set June 20 has been ordered revoked in the case of Vincent C. Bonar, 21, of 7117 Twp. Hwy 263, Bergholz, on a motion of the Prosecuting Attorney on grounds Bonar has failed random drug/alcohol testing administered by the Carroll County Adult Probation Department and has displayed violent and turbulent behavior that required intervention of law enforcement. A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Bonar who was convicted May 4, 2017, of assault and sentenced to a three-year probation. Two cases against Dustin J. Dorsey, 36, of 7144 Sandy Lane, Malvern, have been continued to July 25 for a merits hearing on repeated violations of a five-year probation imposed Sept. 22, 2017, upon conviction of possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia offenses and failure to appear; $50,000 cash or surety bond set June 26 continued. The case of Thomas J. Allen, 41, of Painesville, has been continued to July 25 for a merits hearing on a violation of a fiveyear reporting probation imposed Feb. 12, 2019, upon conviction of attempted burglary; $50,000 cash or surety bond set June 17 continued. Substantial evidence has been found that Ryan P. McCartan, 30, of 4113 Bonnie Dr., Malvern, has violated a five-year probation imposed June 8, 2018, after the defendant was sentenced Feb. 12, 2018, to an intervention in lieu of conviction after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs. Substantial evidence has been found that Branson Tyler Poole, 26, of 6280 Anderson Dr. NW, Malvern, has violated a five-year probation imposed Oct. 19, 2017, when the defendant was granted a judicial release from a 4-year prison sentence imposed Feb. 26, 2016, upon conviction of aggravated robbery. However, the Court has elected to not revoke Poole’s community control sanctions at this time and instead modified them to include continued treatment at Vivitrol, remain in Sober Living House and comply with their orders. The case of Christopher F. Riddick, 29, of 6051 Alamo Rd. SE, Carrollton, has been continued to July 25 on a motion for judicial release from an 11-month prison sentence imposed April 23, 2018, upon conviction of one count of breaking and entering, three counts of burglary, two counts each of theft and grant theft. The case of Gregory T. Ohler, 36, of 26550 N. Shore Dr., Beloit, has been continued to July 25 for a merits hearing on a violation of a five-year prison sentence imposed Oct. 31, 2017, upon conviction of domestic violence; $50,000 cash or surety bond set June 20 continued. Substantial evidence has been found that Ronnie L. Garrison, 41, of 500 Charlotte Ave., Canton, has violated a five-year probation imposed Aug. 31, 2018, upon conviction of aggravated possession of drugs. However, the Court has elected not to revoke Garrison’s community control sanctions at this time and instead modified them to include a 30-day jail sentence with credit for 20 days previously served. Probable cause has been found that Dillon R. Daugherty, 24, of 1229 Clover Rd. NW, Minerva, has violated a five-year probation imposed Aug. 3, 2018, after the defendant was placed on a three-year intervention plan June 15, 2018, upon conviction of possession of cocaine; $25,000 cash or surety bond set July 3 continued and case continued to July 25 for a merits hearing. The case of Joshua A. Oaks, 21, of 3891 Werner Church Rd., Canton, who was indicted Jan. 9 for breaking and entering and

petty theft, has been continued to July 25 for a change of plea and sentencing hearing. Substantial evidence has been found that Kyle G. Bourne, 31, of 215 E. Arch St., Port Washington, has violated a five-year reporting probation imposed Jan. 9, 2019, upon conviction of aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools. However, the Court has elected not to revoke the defendant’s community control sanctions at this time and instead modified them to include a 30-day incarceration in the Carroll County jail with credit for 23 days. Jonathan D. Vaillant, 22, of 224 ½ 2nd St. NE, Carrollton, has withdrawn a former not guilty plea to a June 5 indictment charging him with carrying a concealed weapon (4th degree felony) and entered a guilty plea to an amended indictment due to plea negotiations charging the defendant with carrying a concealed weapon, a 1st degree misdemeanor. Vaillant was sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for two days served. The Court also suspended the remainder of the jail sentence based on the defendant’s general good behavior for one year and assessed him a $500 fine and all court costs. The case of Nickalas M. McCauley, 24, of 1319 Florence Dale Ave., Youngstown, who was indicted June 5 on one count of possession of cocaine and two counts of drug paraphernalia offenses, has been continued to July 25 for a change of plea and sentencing hearing; $25,000 recognizance bond set June 21 continued. Fairclough receives Ohio Auditor of State Award Carroll County Auditor Lynn Fairclough has again received an Ohio Auditor of State award for excellence in her office. This is the fourth consecutive year Fairclough has received the award for excellence in financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and compliance with applicable laws for the fiscal year ended 2018. The current award follows an audit by the Auditor of State’s office, which produced a clean audit. Having received the award for 2015, 2016 and 2017, Fairclough was recognized for filing timely financial reports for fiscal year 2018 and covers areas such as ethics, timely submission, reconciliation, public meetings and public records. Carrollton Police Reports July 8 – Police were called because of a stray, large brown dog in the neighborhood on SE Third Street. Several cats had been killed by the dog and he was to be taken to the dog pound. July 9 – Money was reported missing from a resident at a Lisbon Street care facility. July 9 – A Steubenville Road, Amsterdam, woman backed out of a parking space on East Main Street in downtown Carrollton and struck another car. The driver left the scene but was later apprehended. July 11 – Police were called to investigate more reports of money stolen from residents at an assisted living facility on Lisbon Street. Police discovered an employee had already stolen $118 that day from one resident. The 12th Street woman admitted to taking money from residents after a video tape of her caught in the act was re-

vealed. Diamond earrings were discovered missing and the investigation will continue. July 12 – Police responded to a Sixth Street business where a man who was thought to be either drunk or on drugs was screaming for his sister from a nearby residence. Police talked to the man’s sister and she said he had some methamphetamines and jumped out of the car at a restaurant on Canton Road. The man was charged with disorderly conduct. July 12 – The Department of Job and Family Services was called to investigate reports of child abuse at a Carrollton home. Children were reported to have been bitten and harmed in other ways. July 14 – A Second Street woman was charged with domestic violence after she repeatedly shoved and pushed a relative and then took their phone, broke it and put it in the toilet.
