Clemens Bowling Makes School History
from May 2023
Samuel Clemens High School Bowling has continued to have winning seasons since their debut back in 2011, but something about this year made the outcome different.
The Samuel Clemens High School Bowling team recently took their talents to one of the biggest stages in high school bowling and found themselves in new yet familiar territory. Clemens Bowling Head Coach, Evan Johnson touched on the team’s motivation for the year, “As a coach, you always want your team to achieve everything you know they are capable of doing. After finishing state runnerup last year, I told the team there was only one way to improve on the season." The Clemens Bowling Team recently went to the 2023 THSBC State Tournament where they had two players compete in the men’s individual competition and one player compete in the women’s individual competition. To top off their time at the
State Championship, Samuel Clemens took the State title for Team Bowling!
Clemens Bowling Senior, Riley Tabuyo, spoke on the team’s success saying, “The work and time our coaches and my teammates put in showed character and passion, for that I’m thankful. My final season was full of the greatest fun and finished off with a fulfilling end.” The Samuel Clemens Bowling Team made school history during their season, and Sponsor Jeffrey Gideon CMSgt. shared, “The best part is seeing them grow as a team and as individuals.”
