Austin Cherniwchan and Brian
Hi my name is Austin Cherniwchan I am 12 years old and live on a farm by Stry. This is my second year in 4-H. Aside from working with my steer, I like to play volleyball, basketball, badminton, as well as enjoy water sports like surfing, skiing, and wakeboarding. Most summer days, you can catch me driving around on my quad.
My market steer is a Charolais Simmental cross named Brian. He loves getting scratches on his back and head. I feed him a ration of rolled barley, silage, hay, and supplement. On weigh-in day, he weighed 804 pounds. He has come a very long way. He was super stubborn at the start but with some encouragement he now walks with a little push. I hope you can make it to our show and sale to come and meet us!

Reed Cherniwchan and Vader
My name is Reed Cherniwchan. I am 15 years old and this is my third year in 4-H. My steer’s name is Vader. I live 10 minutes out of Vilna near Stry. I have a great life on the farm and spend a lot of time working with my steer. He is a Black Angus/Simmental cross. He had a starting weight of 805 lbs on weigh in day and he has gained a lot of weight since then. He is finishing nicely and is getting better at leading.

I’ve had older cousins in 4-H for as long as I could remember and my dad has always taken my younger brother and I to their Achievement Day. It was always a fun filled event watching them. This was one of my main reasons of wanting to join 4-H as well and making me want to come back a second year.
I am on my school badminton, basketball and volleyball teams. I also do other activities such as Ukrainian dance and play the violin. I have pretty good grades and am excited to be moving into High School next year.
I am looking forward to my third Achievement Day and hope to see you there!

Hi, my name is Cheyanne Harty, and my market steer project is named Blue. Blue is a Blue Maine-Anjou Short-horn cross steer. I got Blue from Matt Jarema. I am 13 years old, and this is my first Intermediate project but fourth overall project. I am hoping that Blue will be well behaved for sale day. Blue is my best leading project yet. He enjoys eating his grain, scratches on his head and green grass. This year I am the Vice President our club. I want to thank Cody Hrehorets, for buying my steer, T-Bone last year.

Hello everyone, my name is Colton Lamontagne. This is my second year in 4H as a junior member. My Steer’s name is Rip (named after the Yellowstone TV series).

He was born on April 6, 2022. Rip is a Black Angus/Simmental X. He was a bottle calf, but was a wild one! He had his mother for the 1st month. Now he is very friendly and loves his scratches. This year we have been raising him on a chop mix of feed oats/ barley with his large portion of good hay.

Thank you for supporting 4-H!!

Hello, my name is Ethan Syson, I am 14 years old and I am an older brother to one sister. This is my first year in 4H. My steer is named Ferdinand, he is a beautiful Charolais with a nice coat. He weighed 514 pounds at the weigh-in. Ferdinand is by far not the most cudliest steer in the world but he has come a long way from a bush steer. He is now halter broken though he likes to think he leads himself some times but overall a good steer.
4-H has taught me a ton of things like, halter breaking, this was an astonishing experience. Thank You!

This year my steer “Cartman” is a Angus/Simmental X He’s been an awesome steer and easy to halter break Cartman started off weighing 814lbs. He gets fed twice a day, a ration of home-grown silage, hay and barley. He is very well care for, with lots of space to move and grow.
