We provide high quality, full architectural services to public and private clients on new and renovation projects. We are a Washington State Certified MWBE (Minority Woman Owned Business Enterprise), King County SCS, and are considered a Small Disadvantaged Business by the Small Business Administration, and are eager to offer our architecture and planning services in support of your infrastructure projects. Schemata Workshop believes such projects are the most important, accessible, and permanent works we can be involved in as, and we have been both a sub and prime consultant for a diversity of clients around the Puget Sound region, including Sound Transit, Waste Management, Seattle Department of Transportation, and the University of Washington. We are experienced as both a prime consultant, as well as sub-consultant on large, engineerprimed endeavors. Schemata’s principals collectively represent over 80 years of experience on a broad range of project types and budgets. As a firm, our focus is to create successful and collaborative client relationships through exceptional, integrated design that meets client objectives. At the same time, we consider future flexibility, are sensitive to environmental issues, and are thoughtful with regard to the context of the work. Our comprehensive approach ensures that we are intimately aware of all project issues and each project receives hands-on attention from all firm principals. Past projects include a broad range of public and private buildings that have allowed us to produce high quality designs and develop long-term relationships with clients. Through a history of projects with modest budgets we have acquired a high degree of design innovation using standard materials in creative ways. When appropriate, we utilize prefabricated building systems and components to satisfy multiple functional requirements, and were recently recognized by the EPA for our integration of life cycle considerations in our work.

university of washington bicycle shelters programming through fabrication documents prime Schemata Workshop Schemata Workshop is providing design and planning services for a campus-wide bicycle shelter project. Schemata, Alta Planning and Swift & Company are working with UW Transportation Services to engage current bicycle users, building coordinators, UW Facilities and Police Department to determine what currently works with the existing bike facilities and the desired improvements that these stakeholders would like to see. Schemata is designing a system based on a new bike rack system that will be part of a kit-of-parts and deployed over the next few years across campus. westhaven drive schematic design through construction documents prime Mariano & Associates Schemata Workshop developed Master Plan options for Westhaven Drive and the surrounding marina. The primary objectives included the creation of a pedestrian oriented waterfront and mitigating high-tide flooding of the area. This resulted in the implementation of a one-way traffic couplet, rerouting existing public transit to improve efficiency, reorganizing parking, and improved amenity zones. After the plan was approved by the City of Westport, the team completed construction drawings for the reconstruction including drainage, road striping, and sidewalk design elements. kirkland avenue townhomes (currently under construction) schematic design through construction administration prime Schemata Workshop The Kirkland Avenue Townhomes, developed in partnership with the Renton Housing Authority, will provide 14 2-bedroom and four 3-bedroom townhomes. The design is cost conscious but will also incorporate a high level of sustainable features. And most importantly, this project would be the largest affordable housing project in Washington, and the first in the western half of the state, to be designed as modular construction.
