Where Philanthropy Comes to Life
The Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy serves as a hub for resources and activities that work together to improve the lives of all Spartanburg County residents.

With support from donors, the Center provides meeting and office space for Foundation staff and for nonprofit organizations and community groups aligned with the Foundation's mission —to improve the lives of all Spartanburg County residents. Liberty Fellowship, BMW Charities, and Beauty Marks for Girls work from the Center's Incubator Suite. Upstate Warrior Solution’s Spartanburg office is housed in the John T. Wardlaw Partner-in-Residence Suite.
In 2024, the Spartanburg County Foundation's Robert Hett Chapman III Center for Philanthropy welcomed over 2,000 visitors and hosted nearly 200 external meetings. Foundation team members created five engaging digital exhibits that were free to the public, in the Center’s Gallery of Philanthropy. Some of the interactive kiosk displays included the second annual exhibit honoring Spartanburg County Educators, the African American Trailblazers exhibit honoring Black History Month, and 2024 Foundation Grantee Spotlights, each showcasing the remarkable contributions of local community members.

In celebration of its 100th Anniversary, The Duke Endowment curated a traveling exhibit, the first of its kind in Spartanburg. This exhibit offered visitors a deep dive into the Duke family's rich history and their enduring commitment to philanthropy, including many ways that The Duke Endowment grants have supported Spartanburg.
