Spartanburg County is a vibrant and diverse region, rich in history and culture. From the bustling downtown area to tranquil natural spaces and landmarks that honor the unique heritage of our smaller communities, we recognize that our community’s strength lies in the uniting of its individual elements, creating and strengthening the countywide fabric of life. The Spartanburg Community Fund represents the collective power of individuals and organizations coming together to support the County’s future. Donations to the fund empower nonprofits addressing a wide variety needs, creating lasting positive change across Spartanburg County.
We Feel It When We Come Together
Individuals, organizations, and businesses collaborate, working toward shared goals and creating an impact greater than what could be achieved by working in isolation. We live in a community that has embraced this reality. While it could be replicated elsewhere, we often hear it is not. Our community's strength causes visitors to return and stay, and what helps job seekers decide to settle here.
Since 1943, our community has embraced the power of collective giving in the Spartanburg Community Fund. Though its name has changed over the years, what has remained constant is the fund’s purpose: to support the vital work of our community's nonprofits. The fund represents a shared vision for a brighter future across Spartanburg County. Donations to the fund empower nonprofits to address a wide range of needs and drive lasting positive change throughout the county.
Since its inception, the fund has supported efforts that have shaped the natural, physical, cultural, and educational landscape we call home. However, many residents were unaware of the fund’s existence. Now, we are working to broaden awareness of this fund and its role as a cornerstone for the future we are building together. Grants from the fund fuel organizations focused on advancing educational achievement, economic mobility, quality of life, and nonprofit effectiveness – the hallmarks of our thriving community. Everyone can be a part of building our community's strength—today and for the future.
