Europe river cruising What’s new for 2024?

by Rob Ellison

Coinciding with the release of our ‘Europe River Cruises 2024’ brochure, we are excited to announce updates to our river cruising collection.

New itineraries

We’re delighted to bring you details of two new itineraries setting sail in 2024.

The new 10-day Danube Explorer & Highlights of Budapest itinerary offers a close-up look at Western Europe’s longest river. The Danube meanders through the heart of Europe, flowing through famed destinations of the continent, including the capital cities of Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest.

We’re equally thrilled to unveil the new 11-day Rhine Castles & Moselle Vineyards itinerary. The captivating landscapes surrounding the iconic Rhine and the Moselle are home to a breathtaking medley of Renaissance architecture and verdant wine-growing hillsides. This alluring itinerary introduces the ruins of Landshut Castle and a wine-tasting experience in the iconic surrounds of the Schloss Johannisberg estate.

Epic Voyages

Merging popular itineraries into one spectacular sailing, our Epic Voyages are carefully combined journeys designed to take you on a grand-scale adventure.

For 2024, we’ve added two new Epic Voyages, combining perfectly complementary itineraries to extend your odyssey on the European waterways.

Our new 16-day Discover the Treasures of the Danube itinerary allows you to uncover even more of this mighty riverway.

Journeying from Bavaria into the heart of Eastern Europe, this impressive journey spans seven countries. From the ‘City of Three Rivers’, Passau, to the Romanian capital of Bucharest, this voyage pairs hidden gems with monumental cities.

Our EmeraldPLUS programme brings you the best of traditional local experiences, whilst EmeraldACTIVE provides hikes and bike tours of fabled destinations.

The new 15-day Discover the Rhine and Rhône Rivers Epic Voyage combines two of our most popular journeys, allowing you to explore these unique European landscapes in one sailing. Travel from the canal-woven streets of Amsterdam to culture-clad Basel before transferring by coach to the city of Lyon to continue your river-going journey en route to Marseille. Included excursions along the way cover guided tours of Cologne’s Old Town, a visit to the Hospices de Beaune, and a cruise along Amsterdam’s canal network.
