Jason Hughes Jason Hughes’ mission in life is to help people. With more than 16 years of wealth management experience, he finds great joy in helping his clients plan for their financial future. Outside of work, he seeks ways to give back to his community. Hughes and his partner, Justin Leins, formed the Heritage Group at UBS in 2012 with a philosophy they would liken to a concierge model. As part of their philosophy, Hughes, who is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, believes their clients are best served when he and Justin work in concert with their clients’ other trusted advisors, such as CPAs and attorneys. Armed with a deep understanding of their clients’ current financial status, Hughes creates a written financial plan outlining their goals. He and Leins help their clients achieve those goals by advising them on strategies for helping to preserve assets, maximizing growth while minimizing taxes, and transferring wealth. In order to provide this high level of service, Hughes and Leins only work with about 50 families. When Hughes began his career, his mentor impressed upon him that giving was a habit. You either do it or you don’t. Since then, Hughes has made it a habit to give back to his community using his time, talent, and treasure. Today, Hughes is the Minister of Planned Giving at the Church of the Redeemer and also serves on the Development Council for the Southeastern Guide Dogs, where he has become a huge advocate of its “Paws for Patriots” program, which provides service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD. Hughes considers time with his wife, Leigh, and their children, Reagan and William, to be an important part of his day. Although he is a proud Floridian, he remains an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Wolverines from his native state of Michigan.
