As a highly trained dental specialist and Air Force Veteran, Dr. Ruth Rojas offers a higher level of expertise in the restoration and replacement of teeth, ensuring patients’ smiles are as functional as they are beautiful. Dr. Rojas is a prosthodontist and helps those needing a simple filling or crown to patients seeking a full mouth restoration. She also looks after her patients’ oral health with routine check-ups and cleanings. Knowing that a trip to the dentist can be difficult for some people, she has created a serene, spa-like office atmosphere. Dr. Rojas, who is a retired Air Force Major, strives to connect with patients. “I take my time, and patients get to see me more than they expect,” she says. “We never pressure them for treatment. I educate patients and explain what is being recommended. We always give them choices.” Dr. Rojas offers options for virtually painless dentistry and to help those who experience a lot of fear. For the comfort of her patients, she is experienced in painless injections as well as IV sedation. Dr. Rojas had an early interest in dentistry, but entered computer science engineering and learned website design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. After working several years, she returned to her first love, dentistry, and graduated from Temple University with the Merit Award for Prosthetics. Dr. Rojas also completed a three-year residency in prosthodontics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers University). While in the U.S. Air Force, she had the opportunity to treat thousands of military personnel. She also was director of the dental laboratory at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey giving her an in-depth understanding of what can be accomplished in a lab. After several years, she separated as a Major and relocated to Sarasota two years ago. She taught for a year as a full-time faculty member at the School of Dental 3400 S.
