has shown great character by their perseverance. Valedictorian Paul Symanski thanked his family, fellow students, the faculty and staff at Liberty High School. He also thanked the coaches “who helped us learn lessons beyond the classroom. Symanski talked about when they all move onto the next stage of their lives, it will be up to each of them to motivate themselves. “Throughout our high school journey, we have grown

into confident young adults who have the knowledge and skills to be successful. It’s up to us to use them. Principal Derek Adams took to the podium and seized one last opportunity to take a selfie with all the graduates and their families in the background. He remarked on how the Class of 2019 holds a special place in his heart as they are his first graduating class since becoming principal. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together and getting to know you. I enjoyed watching you grow and just from September until now,

you’ve all grown tremendously. Superintendent Dr. Augustine E. Tornatore remarked on how the Class of 2019 came of age in a time of transition. Tornatore mentioned back in 2010 a group of third graders (now the graduating class) made a time capsule that they would open at a later date. “Unfortunately for them, the time capsule would remain sealed forever as a parking lot was placed over where it was buried, Tornatore said. The Class of 2019 attended Liberty Elementary School at a time when constant renova-

tions to the building were taking place. That trend continued as the Class of 2019 arrived at a high school under constant renovations as well. It was in twelfth grade when they all found their stride as a class. “Over the past two years that I've been at Liberty, I’ve found your class to be polite, caring and a wonderful group of young people,â€? Tornatore said. “I noticed how you all supported one another during this school year ‌ I will always remember you as the class with class.â€? CONTINUED ON PAGE 20G
