Organisational values are a core facet that helps to distinguish the firm from others. The metric underpins the organisational policies, objectives, procedures and strategies by providing an anchor and reference point to the elements.

However, in this complex and ever-changingworld, anticipating the future can be very difficult.

• Organizational leaders must create a compelling vision that will inspire and motivate their employees.A vision is an •ambitiousview of thefuture that everyone in the organisation can believe in, one that can realistically be achieved, yet offers a future that isbetter in important waysthan what nowexists. Even though successful organisations depend on the active involvement of all employees, leaders are still ultimately responsible for establishing organisational direction through vision and strategy (Northouse, 2014).

Leaders decide the direction for their organisations based onfacts, rational analysis, intuition, personal experience and imagination. Consequently, a leader’s contribution and impact can be measured bythe extent to whichthey are able to: articulate the vision, mission and strategies allocate the resources required for their implementation those who mustembrace and achieve the organizational goals rewards appropriate to those who contribute to achieving the vision
