ABOUT THE LP Museum of Sins is the first long-play music album by Budapest-based singer-songwriterproducer Mimi Kőrös known as Saya Noé, who grew up in Malaysia in a family of classical musicians. As one of the biggest promises among the young and emerging talents with international ambitions, being selected for the HOTS Hungarian Music Export shortlist for the first time in 2020, she worked for almost a whole year on twelve very personal and profound songs that were dressed up into mellow, sometimes moody electropop tracks with an alternative touch and flavours of genres from modern trap to trip-hop. „This album is my way of questioning what's right and what's wrong in all its fluidity. I want to place sin on a pedestal - regardless of meaning or the shape that it molds - in the brightest lit room for all to see, and admire or judge to their own heart's desire. And just be human for a moment” – Saya Noé says. What makes the album even more unique beyond the deeply personal approach is a bunch of family members who contributed to the music: Mimi’s mother on viola, her father on violoncello and her cousin on flute. Moreover, the painting on the album cover was created by her late grandmother Ida Magony. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Gainlab Studios Budapest together with Mimi’s co-producer Gábor Biksi. The advance single for the album, ’Under the River’ was mixed by Grammy-awarded UK producer Matt Lawrence (Mumford & Sons, Adele, Amy Winehouse) and entered several Spotify editorial playlists since its release in early October. Museum of Sins is released on streaming platforms and cd on 10 december 2020, vinyl LP version is also coming around January 2021. The virtual album release show will be broadcasted via Saya Noé’s Twitch channel which has more than 28.000 followers worldwide.
AZ ALBUMRÓL A ’Museum of Sins’ a Malaysiában, zenész családban felnőtt budapesti énekesnő-dalszerző, producer Kőrös Mimi, művésznevén Saya Noé első nagylemeze. Mint a nemzetközi karrierben gondolkodó fiatal, feltörekvő zenészek generációjának egyik legígéretesebb tagja (aki rögtön az első évében felkerült a HOTS magyar zenei export ajánlólistájára), közel egy évig dolgozott a lemez 12 nagyon személyes hangvételű, mély gondolatvilágú dalán, melyek lágy, időnként melankolikus electropop hangszerelésbe öltöztek, egy csöppnyi alternatív felhanggal, számos stílusból merítve a modern traptől a trip-hopig. „Ezen az albumon a magam módján teszem fel a kérdést: mi helyes és mi helytelen a maga változékonyságában. A bűnt – jelentsen bármit és legyen bármilyen a formája –szeretném kitenni egy posztamensre, a lehető legvilágosabb teremben, hogy mindenki lássa és szíve szerint csodálhassa, vagy ítéletet mondhasson fölötte – ezáltal emberivé válva egy pillanatra.” – mondja az albumról Saya Noé. A mély, személyes megközelítésen túl több családtag közreműködése teszi igazán különlegessé a lemezt: a borítón Mimi már elhunyt nagymamájának, Magony Idának a festménye látható, míg az édesanyja mélyhegedűn, édesapja gordonkán, unokatestvére pedig fuvolán játszik az albumon, melynek felvételei és hangmérnöki munkái a budapesti Gainlab Studios-ban készültek Mimi társproducere, Biksi Gábor (Cloud9+) segítségével. A lemez beharangozó dala, az ’Under The River’, melynek hangzásán a neves brit producer, Matt Lawrence (Mumford & Sons, Adele, Amy Winehouse) dolgozott, október eleji megjelenése óta a Spotify számos szerkesztett lejátszási listájára felkerült. A ’Museum of Sins’ 2020. december 10-én jelenik meg a digitális platformokon és cd-n, januárban pedig érkezik a vinyl-lemez változat is.
