What makes the holidays special for you and your family? I live out of state from the rest of my family, and while I LOVE being in Southern California, it can be tough to be so far away from loved ones! I know there are a lot of mamas reading who can relate to what I’m talking about. That being said, there’s something really special about the coming together of extended family during the holidays—and the renewed focus on tradition. It’s something I don’t get to enjoy regularly—and I think that’s what makes this time of year even more meaningful (for me and the kids!). What are you coveting this season that you hope to receive during the holidays? I’m a single mom of four kids: Lyza (10), Cyndal (8), Alice (4) and Troy (2). Life with four can certainly be busy—and it’s sometimes hard to really slow down and appreciate the small things. During this season—and throughout the upcoming year—I’m really hoping to take the time to be present. Present for my kids, present for my loved ones, and present for myself. I also want to look for more opportunities to teach my children valuable lessons—lessons about strength, love and giving. I think the spirit of charity so many of us feel during the holiday season is incredibly special. I hope to keep this spirit of charity active throughout 2018 (and beyond!).
What are some of the special traditions that you and your family share? Ohhh…we have so many special traditions I’m getting excited just thinking about them! In the spirit of giving, we do a family service project every year. We’ve done everything from making blankets, to preparing food, and serving in kitchens. I try to get my older kids involved in deciding what our focus will be—they’re mature enough for it! We also love decorating our tree, and dressing up to replay the nativity live. And how can we talk about the holidays without mentioning the food! We always spend an afternoon making pizzelle cookies (and eating them, of course). What is a childhood memory that has stuck with you all of these years? When I was a kid we would open pajamas on Christmas Eve. It’s something I now do with my own kids—who would ALWAYS beg to open a present ahead of time. As an added bonus, the kiddos look pretty cute for pictures in new pajamas ;). I also remember making divinity candy and fruit cookies with my grandparents—those treats are still some of my favorites and the thought of them makes my heart swell! What are some of the ways that you give back during the holiday season? I feel so fortunate to be making a living doing something I love—but getting here hasn’t been easy. As I said earlier, I’m aiming to keep the spirit of charity alive all year (and not just for a few months). That being said, we do ramp up our giving during the month of December, with the family service projects I mentioned, and some initiatives as a company. Every November and December we donate our Covered Goods® four-in-one nursing covers to hospitals around the United States for NICU care.

The gift everyone will love
very year, as we think about what to put on our holiday gift list, we come up with things that we need and things that we want. Sometimes they are items that we will use for a season and other times, they are items that will last for years to come. As life would have it, our needs change as the days go on for one reason or another. This year, instead of the gift of a cozy sweater or a new pair of boots, what we really want is the gift of ease.
A machine that multi-tasks The HUAWEI MediaPad M3 Lite has a multitask view. Mom brain is no joke so we need a tablet that can do many things at a time or else we will forget what we are doing! Manage your time by keeping two apps open at the same time on one screen. Step one to remaining organized and on top of things is having the multitask view so that it can mimic your brain!
night working that suits the eyes Late The screen has an eyecare-optimized display that is perfect for the darkness of the bedroom. For those nights when you just can't sleep because you have too much going on in your brain, the display protects your eyes from harsh bright lights in the dark. Although your brain is wide awake, after being in the dark for a few hours, your eyes are ready for bed! A tablet for the whole family With just the touch of a button, the MediaPad that is perfect for you, quickly becomes perfect for the kids. The Kid's Nook comes preset with a few apps that entertain them and gives moms a few minutes to herself (rare, we know)! Set the parental controls to ensure that they are only doing what you want them to be doing on there! Style and function The MediaPad M3 Lite is versatile in its function and meets all the demands of a busy mom on the go, including the demands of your children! Sizing in at less than 5 inches wide and 8.4 inches tall, it fits in almost any purse. The sleek design comes in 3 colors, white, space grey and gold, allowing you to select the color that best suits your style this holiday season.

LAYER UP We love the look of layers BEANIE and they are functional too! Once the party starts and the room heats up, remove a layer and still feel comfortable.
ALL BLACK When entertaining at home, we are guilty of wearing all black! We know that while we are serving dinner and cleaning up, we will ultimately get a stain on our clothes!
DENIM Black denim is a great look for a holiday get together. Roll them up with a pair of booties or wear them full length with stilettos to make the look more formal.
ARM WARMERS Leg warmers were all the rage in the 80's and now it's all about arm warmers. They look fabulous under a sweater or jacket and look great with tank top too!
