On the menu is wild venison, wild boar, pheasant, wild duck, partridge and wild wood pigeon alongside Loch Arthur cheeses, local black pudding, wild trout and local preserves. An assiette of local and Scottish sweets will round off this rich and rewarding three course meal.

Chirstie and Callum Baird of A Taste of Galloway host their spectacular Galloway Beef Steak Night, a sell out event during Flavour Fortnight 2012 and again during Flavour Taster earlier this year. The setting is under cover in a field at scenic Laughtmuirside Farm, home of A Taste of Galloway, and the relaxed meal will comprise of multiple courses of the farm’s own Free Range Pork, Blackface Lamb and, the centrepiece of the evening, beautiful Galloway Beef Steaks for the main. There will be plenty of Cairn o’ Mohr wine, Sulwath Beer and Waulkmill Cider to wash it all down with, and there’s pudding too... but for now that’s a surprise! You are also welcome to bring your own bottle to make a night of it! Book early as this event will sell out. Directions: Just outside Thornhill, from Dumfries the farm is the last turn to your right before the 30mph signs. From the north the farm is the first turn to your left after leaving Thornhill.
