ALL-STATE

Despite a season filled with injuries and a demanding schedule, the St. Pius X Rugby Team demonstrated resilience and determination throughout their journey. Concluding the regular season with a 6-8 record, the Sartans experienced an upset in the semi-final match of the State Tournament. SPX was defeated by Rio Rancho, followed by another loss in the 3rd place match against Los Alamos, despite wins against both teams earlier in the season.

Additionally, this season marked the exciting formation of an U16 team of talented eighth and ninth graders in the club. Building upon this success, the club plans to establish a U19 team next year, comprised of senior, junior, and sophomore players. The club will also form a ladies team, adding to the growing diversity and inclusivity of the SPX Rugby Program.
