In the Barents region there has been the voluntary cooperation of journalists, Barents Press International since 1993.
IN barents region distances are long. car is the easiest way to travel.
MOST OF THE journalists know this. THE AUDIENCE does not.
IN Abisko they organise nature photography training ,for journalists. we ll meet colleagues! At the beginning everything was new, with plenty of story ideas. Today, EVERYTHING IS calculated precisely. We are always in a hurry.

NARVIK EVEN here, in “wealthy” Norway the budgets are strained. Media chains keep growing. Same news are recycled.

The landscape are marvellous! good topic to write. But is this already “too normal” for the local media?
perhaps REAL Good stories landscape, too. Soon are always more , we re going to see important than any white-tailed eagles. official stuff. YES, Local speciality!

There! Towards the centre of the city and the TV studios.
We have many young journalists. Our newspapers are small, but radio and television are significant media. We also have commercial TV channels.
What in the world?
How so? we are the journalists , you re going to meet.
Russia, an interesting place...
But you are younger than journalists usually are.
We write about tourism, entertainment and culture.

There seems to be one real barents media!
Finally, we head towards Inari, to visit sami language Oddasat tv station, funded by yle.
the most Functional Barents media is Oddasat.
Sami language news across the borders. But Russian viewers are difficult to reach here as well.
in oddasat We are able to look at things from a Sami perspective and focus on the events in our own region.
not long way anymore, be CAUTIOus!
Oddasat transmission times, of course, could be better.
Reindeer and traffic could be a good topic, as always.
Wow! this region is unique in Europe and full of interesting things!
even in our own language.
