Getting started with Datastream


Data origins Worldwide equity coverage direct from the stock markets, comprehensive market indices, economics data direct from national government sources as well as the OECD and IMF, fixed income securities and associated indices, commodities and derivatives data. Forecast earnings data from IBES, fundamental data from Worldscope and added value data sets from respected sources such as MSCI, DJ Stoxx and FTSE All World.


Time periods Equity data is from IPO to 2013, updated daily. Macro time series in the 'Economics' section are monthly, quarterly and annual; with up to 50 years' coverage. For an overview of contents, consult the content reference card.

Logging on Double click the Datastream desktop icon Click on Tools Select Configure Communications Fill in the boxes, if empty, with the following information D Live: DS Username: XUBL101 Password: Customer If you forget to do this, a box will pop up to remind you when you try to run your request.


Once Datastream has loaded successfully the Request screen will be displayed, which contains all the areas required for running a search‌
