FUTURE DEVELOPMENT The current demographic for Mint & Badger’s customer base is between 45 - 65 years of age. Currently, this demographic uses primarily desktop computers for the majority of their web usage and on-line shopping. Research shows that between 65-78% of Mint & Badger’s market use Facebook as their primary social media platform. This percentage of users drops dramatically for other types of social media. User-testing of Mint & Badger’s prototype support these research findings, with users struggling to identify social media icons for sites other than Facebook.

Conclusion

What does this mean for the future of Mint & Badger’s on-line store? As the market ages, Mint & Badger’s target demographic will shift to consist of users who are more comfortable with (and eventually favor) mobile platforms for their web needs. Therefore, Mint & Badger should embrace the mobile platform for their online store in preparation of this shift. Additionally, this same market will demand the integration of additional social media platforms to account for the most popular social media usage with the current market.
