College For Kids (CFK)

College for Kids (CFK) is a program with engaging instructors where students can experience being on the college campus in a safe environment, learning in the same classrooms that are used by college students while having fun. College for Kids provides academic day camp activities for children ages 10-14 during the summer, where students can attend classes in arts, crafts, science, engineering, technology, robotics, sports & much more.

Make Unique Origami Cards

Create your own beautiful and unique cards using the ancient art of origami - the art of folding objects out of paper to create both two-dimensional and threedimensional subjects. Island Hopping The Cedar Keys *

Nature still rules in the Cedar Keys area of Florida’s Big Bend. Its a low, wet country where land merges gradually with the sea, shrinking and expanding with the ebb and flow of tides. Shore birds, dolphins, horseshoe crabs and a menagerie of plant and animal species make this a fascinating area to explore by kayak. Difficulty: Moderate paddle on open water. Three hours of paddling may be tiring to some.

This round-trip (up and back) paddle on the upper Santa Fe River will take us to the confluence of Olustee Creek. The high, sandy banks speak to a fascinating story about this area’s formation and geology but might not appeal to those who prefer wetland communities. Possible wildlife includes gators, upland and hardwood bird species, wood ducks, deer, beaver and otter. We could even see capybaras! Difficulty: This is a round trip paddle, meaning we’ll paddle upstream, against a very light current for the first half of the tour. Not suitable for those with limited physical abilities or endurance.

RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE PROGRAM (R.A.D.)

The Santa Fe College Police Department and Alachua County Sheriff’s Office proudly present the Rape Aggression Defense Program, known as R.A.D., and the Self-defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange Program, known as S.A.F.E. These programs are self-defense courses specifically and only for women. The RAD program was founded by a former campus police officer. The program’s instructional objective is “to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked.”

REFUNDS

You may drop a class and receive a full refund if the request is made 48 business hours before the class occurs or the posted refund deadline (see each course info for details). Please call 352-395-5193 or email comm-ed@sfcollege.edu to request the refund. After that time, you’ll need to petition for refund.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Community Education reserves the right to cancel classes based on low enrollment or other causes. The student will be notified in advance, and a full refund will be provided.
