bio I am graduating in May 2019 with my Masters of Architecture from DAAP, University of Cincinnati. I have spent 9 years pursuing both my Bachelorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s of Architecture and Masters of Architecture alongside numerous internships spread across the globe. I have worked in Kuwait, The Netherlands, India and USA. My most recent experience includes working with SHP in Cincinnati and Mahlum in Seattle. Both practices are involved in the development of new approaches to educational architecture. Apart of my graduate studies, I have been pursuing film making and architectural photography through the use of UAVâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s (drones). I am currently doing freelance projects which focus on architectural film making and architectural photography both aerial and interior. Most recently, with my graduate thesis project my efforts have been put in trying to define new ways of looking at farming and how it will impact developing nations such as India, as the potential for growing food and feeding the planet slowly falls on the shoulders of developing countries. I am searching for a post-graduate position as an architectural designer in an office which believes in pushing the limits of creativity and setting standards with the use of modern day technology to develop cutting edge architecture as we know it.

Despite the strategic position INDIA has to her advantage, there is a lack of focus in addressing the future of farming and food production. This thesis, is an attempt to tackle aspects of infrastructure and function as the basis of proposing a 21st century community farm in present day context. The HEMP Museum, catered to showcase how HEMP has been used over the years and how it can be used in the future as well. The main feature is the courtyard which leads to the ramps taking the individual 4 levels up, showcasing each era and how HEMP was used in them. The museum is placed at the top of the site, this mirrors the Pahari Architectural Style, as to placing the temple at the apex of each setting. The Museum in this context represents the same in a symbolic way due to the fact it showcases the overall character of HEMP. All buildings have been designed in order to be constructed with the Vernacular Materials so that it induces local employment and can be constructed with the experience that the locals have. 16

Designed on a step farm of apple orchards, this is the only school present over a radius of 20km. Also accommodating the students of MALANA this school exists as the only source of formal education in the region. Added on are the playgrounds and open air theatre on the right hand side of the school block. The Kindergarten is placed on the highest contour in connection to the staff room and administration being on the same level. The Hemp Research Institute, houses labs and farms to grow hemp and harvest them in order to research and develop on the multiple products that the plant is inherent to. In addition to the research aspect, public amenities have also been interlinked with the structure such as a restaurant and viewing galleries to see the research process.

A P P R O A C H Exhibit Columbus The school was invited, along with C A B5 I Nother E T O F schools C U R I O S I T of I E S architecture, to participate R E G Iin O Nthe A L Iinaugural N V E N TO RY Biennale, to be held in Columbus, Indiana, a mecca for modern architecture in the Midwest.

“These projects should represent the state of architectural education as well as speculate on possible trajectories of the discipline. These temporary installations have the potential to be a catalyst for changing the way we design and build in the Midwest, enhancing partnerships between designers and manufacturers, and expanding design literacy through education”. Following the studio and exhibition, The University was invited to participate in the “Time Space Existence” exhibition running parallel to the 2018 Venice Biennale. We created another studio with graduate students to re-tool significant details and modular components, design and build custom crates to pack them and ship them to Venice on a shipping container, and then assemble the pavilion in Venice. 22

The project demonstrates the simple philosophical position of Alchemy; transmuting base matter into gold. At the heart of this position is the notion of direct experimentation as a form of research, and the belief that change & transformation can happen through optimistic speculation- turning the banal and discarded into things of wonder and beauty. Students conducted full-scale experiments with the materials in advance of any form or predetermined functionwe were simply concerned with what the materials and artifacts could do, and which generative opportunities could be discovered. The collection of prototypes was dubbed the â&#x20AC;&#x153;cabinet of curiositiesâ&#x20AC;? by the students, and was used to suggest possible assemblies for our pavilion.

14 students in 2 teams of 7 were brought on to complete the project which had begun a year earlier. The Tiny House needed a new roof to protect it from the ever changing Ohio weather. Also over the course of using the space for a year, it was imperative that there be a tool shed built on the site to house all the necessary equipment and tools to sustain life on the Prairie. Both the ROOF and the TOOL SHED were buillt from materials that were salvaged from around the site. An old barn was the source for the wood with which the shed is cladded and corrugated metal sheets were used as the roof material. The structure of the tool shed was built based of a MODULAR SYSTEM, where individual modules were build from wood and cross braced for support which then was superimposed over an existing concrete covering - protecting the pump and water well. The structure of the ROOF was built out of Corten Steel sections and corrugated metal sheets were added ontop to give it the rough finish it has today.

Cincinnati was home to a large German population in the early 20th century and all that is left behind as a piece of that history is the brewing culture that prevails even today. The site is located just off the historic neighborhood of OTR - â&#x20AC;&#x153;over the rhine.â&#x20AC;? The program mainly focuses on having a BREW PUB, a space to learn HOW to MAKE BEER, outdoor BEER GARDENS and a requirement to connect Central Parkway to West McMickken Avenue. The prime inspiration for the building is purely derived from the industrial context that the site is located in. With the use of glass, steel and wood an industrial character was also given to the building.

Terminal II Jammu is a remodel to the existing airport facility, which is outdated and lacks all the modern amenities that the travellers of today seek. Future expansion and development w.r.t the runway and site was deemed as a seperate phase. Therefore as a part of the design breif, the terminal had to be designed retaining the single existing runway. Dividing the arrival and departure on opposite ends of the terminal eased a lot of the planning, this in turn gave room to play with form and add multiple aerobridges - the current airport has none. 54

One of the prime concerns was to locate a space for the Indian Airforce to have a permanent base on the premisis of this terminal. This is due to the effect of a lot of border disputes and possible terror activities, due to the LOC (the border line between india and pakistan : â&#x20AC;&#x153;line of controlâ&#x20AC;?) being just a few kilometers away.

Using the 6 axis KUKA robotic arm to extrude clay and develop complex geometric shapes into physical 3d models. In order to acheive that, a grasshopper code and program developed by ZHA : Zaha Hadid Architects was used and the surface model was generated with the help of â&#x20AC;&#x153;ALICE.â&#x20AC;? Multiple trials were made to get the consistency of the clay right. Speed, overhang and clay consistency were the 3 determining factors which had to be tried and tested to be able to achieve the desired print results.

The KUKA robotic arm shown in above diagram has 6 axes around which it functions, making it as versatile as an arm in terms of movement. The nossle through which the clay is extruded from is directly proportional to the quality of the print. The smaller the nossle the finer the clay flows. Although the smaller the nossle gets, the longer it takes to print the clay.

ULI (Urban Land Institute) Cincinnati, sent out the RFP for 4 underutilized sites sitting right on the Ohio River Banks. 1 out of the 4 parcels of land comes under the flood zone and the city of Cincinnati is looking to convert the remaining 3 parcels (currently parking lots) for better meaningful use. This was an interdisciplinary competition, having team members of different majors namely, Real Estate , Planning, Landscape and Architecture. Based on the various studies we made, a mixed use program seemed to be the most viable option to build.

Approaching design from a detail point of view - as different as that sounds, so was the process. Utilizing the same site as the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Brewery on McMickkenâ&#x20AC;? this project focuses on understanding how the building envelop comes together and the various details involved with the same. Numerous scale models were built to understand the physicality of the details coming together, the studio was conducted in teams of 2, with the final design output being a hybrid brewery which is based on the custom details acting as a driver to inform the architecture.

Ramnagar is an old settlement located in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. It was the capital of Maharaja Suchet Singh, who along with his two brothers ruled the Jammu region. The complex consists of a palace complex and a fort encasing a cemetery. The documentation was carried out as a project to understand the style of classic dogric architecture and the life of the people around this region. In an attempt to revive forgotten its history. It was built by Bandral lords as a fortified area but reconstructed by Raja Suchet Singh in 1822. Raja Suchet Singh was one of the 3 brothers of Raja Gulab Singh.

The palace was built on the highest contoured part of the site. The building is approached via steps leading from the main road. Two smaller structures are located on either sides of the steps and are known as DIWAN-I-KHAS and DIWAN-I-AAM. On to the right side of the entrance there are 3 prodigal halls popularly known as the darbar hall, Sheesh mahal and Rand Mahal. The Darbar hall is a big chamber having a size of 46â&#x20AC;&#x2122;x18â&#x20AC;&#x2122; and is surrounded with heavily decorated walls. The Nawa Mahal is located adjacent to the Purana Mahal. The complex has open courtyards surrounded by rooms with two entrances facing each other in opposite wings. The outer walls are high and are duly supported by buttresses. The rooms have false wooden ceilings and the interior walls are decorated with various types of floral designs. 78
