Life Curves Made by Me

Choi, Myung-ja Principal

Hello, everyone! Let s think about the above table. The word time has many meanings. The past times we value always include different things according to where we put the emphasis. We meet many people in our lives. These meetings become our personal history and we draw the life curves including it. However, God gave us choice privileges. The world-wide philosopher, Socrates said that the most precious time is now, the most important place is here, and the most valuable person is you. He who keeps company with the wolf will learn to howl. Your life curves will be different because of the different choices and people who you get along with. Why don t you make a friend like the words below suggest? - I am you. You are me. - If we are sitting next to each other - we grow into one - Because we are truthful to each other - we share the same ideas gratifyingly

Servant Leadership Modern society is the world which is daily updated with lots of information and knowledge due to advancing IT technology. If you can access to the Internet, you will be inflated with pride by having specialized knowledge. In a society full of information and knowledge, how will you Kim, Eun-hee provide yourself differentiated President of quality compared to others in school management the future world? How will you committee increase your competitiveness? Well..... these answers can be one of the methods. However, the research of institute of psychology in Seoul National University is surprising. This institute reported that competitiveness depends on morality and it is impossible to be elected as leader of society without morality through long- term study. What qualifications do you consider? There are three classmates who have different characteristics. One is a strong and attractive guy, another has excellent grades and the other listens attentively to others. Whom will you choose as the leader of your class? Of course, the person who listens attentively will be elected as the leader. If you think like this, you already carry out the servant leadership in your school-life. In plain language, servant leadership is a kind of leadership in which the leader serves others. The leader with servant leadership doesn t order his men but makes lots of efforts to fulfill their desire. Like the saying The boughs that bear most hang lowest , servant leadership is a familiar virtue to the Korean race. Do you think that you can succeed by solving more math equations or memorizing many English words? Don t do that! Considerate behavior is the key to make a step to success. If you reach out your hands to the weak and understand others thoughts you are fit to be a future leader. I truly hope this servant leadership can make you be a happy leader.

The Golden Sayings Although Helen Keller is blind and deaf, she shows us great courage. A person who is able to see the sun is happy, but a person who can not see it is not always unhappy. The important thing is your attitude. she said. She gave force and courage Lee, Tae-in President of to all the people in addition parents to the disabled. She had a association very hard time to learn how to speak, because she cannot hear. In spite of this, however, she did not give us and demonstrates courage to all of us. People also say, What is learned in the cradle is carried to the tomb It is very hard to change a bad habit to a good habit. A soft answer turns away wrath and Good words are good cheap These mean that you should always use kind words. You shall try to say good things about others always. I think that more effort is necessary for students today. If you sleep now, you will be dreaming. But, if you study now, you will be achieving your dream. Please, remember this whenever you want to give up. The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. Einstein and Edison who are the most famous scientist and inventor in the world share great words with us. Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new, said Einstein. Edison said, Genius is one percent inspiration, ninetynine percent perspiration To work hard is the only way to achieve your goals! Students, Build a dream! then, the dream will build you!!

A Real President! 6-3 Hong, Jeong-su The 1st school president During the 2012 Korea Good School Expo, a 3rd grade representative at our school addressed me. Senior! I want to be a president of our school when I become a 6th grader. How can I be a president? With just a smile on my face, I couldn t provide a proper answer. After that episode, for several days, the question of the junior goes around my head and reminds me what the true leader is. What should we do to be a true leader who is a leader who represents a large group as a representative of our school? First, we should do our best in all activities! While we are in school life, we must undergo enormous contests and exams. On all such occasions, Will you complain or get irritated all the time? No way! Not due to parent s forced order or the fear for penalty from teacher, let s enjoy that situation delightfully. A genius can t beat one who is endeavors. If you fully enjoy that, you can find yourself much more advanced. If you are lucky, you will obtain glorious prizes, praise of parents and enviousness of friends... It is worth trying that.

My Most Precious Memories

Second, do everything with a sense of responsibility! A leader is a position which is generated by others trust and support. Nevertheless, behaving selfishly and not performing his/her responsibility, this is the worst thing of all. When he or she must choose either individual s profit or common good, a leader should sacrifice himself or herself, and adopt common good. It s a true configuration of leader. Third, we should be a person who is kind and friendly to the weak! Recently, bullying is issued as a serious social problem. Some bullies distress and bully classmates because of being weak- not having good grades or being poor. Although victims friends want to help them, they are afraid of being bullied too. So, they ignore that situation. But, if you reach out your hands to these weak or poor friends valorously, you can be the true leader. My dear friends!! I think the real leader is the person who does his/her best, a sense of responsibility, and is kind to the weak. If we spend our school life with these minds, we are already a real president of the school.

School Violence

6-4 Park, Byung-hyun

6-1 Lee, Hyun-jung

The 1st school vice president

The 1st school vice president

Almost six years have passed since I entered my school. There are an auditorium and swimming pool in my school. A pool swimming competition is held each year in the school. In my school, one student must learn to play at least one instrument. I started to learn the flute since third grade and can play easy song. Now, I have served as a member of the school s orchestra in my school. Think back to my school days of five years and an half, it was really a succession of interesting things. I had a close relationship with many friends and made a lot of happy memories with my friends, in there. With all the fun and memories, I became the vice president of the spring semester. When I started, I thought three months will be gone through quickly. But I was wrong. Thinking back, it was a very long and difficult time for me. Unlike just a school student, I had to pay attention to students a lot. The mission of the vice president for the spring semester ended. A new president and two vice presidents were elected. They have already started to serve both students and school. I have made many trips with my friends and their family together every year.

Do you know the reason that a lot of students are afraid of going too school? The answer is a school violence The strong student hit and bothered the weak student. Cyber violence is bothering friends by using a cellular phone. We think that our school is safe and free from school violence because there are no school fights and no large accident in our school. However, fight and school violent can happen in the places that we cannot see. So, only one person cannot prevent school violence. We can do that! If you see the school violence , just let your teacher or supervisor know immediately. We shall protect our friend from school violence. School violence is pushing our friends to juvenile suicide. About juvenile suicide, unfortunately, Korea is the worst in the world. Recently, the important reason of juvenile suicide is school violence. School violence is a more important reason than study stress. The young people are our futures. Juvenile suicide, We lost young people, we lost our future. No more school violence, No more juvenile suicide. It shall make our country happy and bright.

There Are Lots of Things to Do Together 6-1 Jung, Jae-min The 2nd school president

First I really thank you for trusting me and finally selecting me. Successful people do not sit around and wait for opportunity to knock on their door. In other words, they actively go searching for chance that will take them a step closer to their goals. So, to be a step closer, I ran for the school president and became elected. I don t think I have extraordinary ability. Instead, I planned and prepared for the election. Although I won the election, I don t think it is the end rather it is the other starting point. There are lots of things to do together. To begin, I think school is a time that we all spend much time studying and exploring the academic knowledge, discussing many issues, aconforming to rules and learning to recognize others point of views. As a leader of our school, I ll confidently do my best as you trust, take care of you and listen carefully from all sides. Yet, importantly, to make our school better place, I need all your help and agreement; I need your cooperation. A community isn t built by one

leading person. It is to be a stronger and exciting school only with all other student s involvement. I d like to share the thoughts and concerns of students. One of the effective methods is communication. Communication keeps us open-minded. Through it, we can understand each other better and solve many problems which recently threaten our school life, like bullying, while helping others as well as ourselves. Moreover, it is also important to have ownership, always keeping it in mind. I m not talking about real owner of something but just about an actively participative and self-initiated person! We should make school life exciting not by other people but by our selves. We should be willing to look around, find out various chances or problems hidden somewhere. They may be the keys that make us closer to our dreams or the keys that give hands for friends who need someone s help. By doing so, we all can be a leader respectively and make our school wonderful place, with me!

You Can Run, but You Can t Hide

The 2nd school vice president

The 2nd school vice president

Hello! I am honored to be a 2nd school vice-present. When I became vice president, I was very excitied. When the Chinese students visited our school, I gave them many presents and talked with them. A student gave me a Chinese souvenir. It was a very important day. I am studying with my teacher and my friends everyday. When I became a 6th grader I felt very awkward and was trembling. But now, I am feel this school is my best school! I like school s principal and teachers. They are so kind and considerate to students. I want us to be a good students in our school Thank you!!!

A famous boxer in America once said, You can run, but you can t hide. There is one thing we, children cannot run away from: studying. Whether we are at school or at home, parents or teachers tell us to study. Many children get stressed about this all the time. However, there is a way to avoid it. And that is to change our attitude. We normally think that studying only gives us stress. I, too, used to think this way. I used to tell my mother, Don t just tell me to study, study, and study. I hate studying. This does no good to us. Then one day, my mom said to me, Work hard for the next ten years. You will be able to do anything that you want. Hearing this, I said to myself, I can do anything that I want after ten years. and it helped me feel better. So, after this, I started to say to myself many times, I can do anything that I want. Doing so not only helped me changed my mind, but also made me more confident. Now, I am a sixth grader and I have a completely different attitude toward my studies. My mom still tells me to study hard, but I no longer get stressed. It only gives me more confidence. Because now, studying means success and happiness. Dreaming of my future full of happiness and success, I do my very best in what I do. http://www.ksadae.es.kr

One day, when I was a first grade student, after enjoying my lunch, I played with my friends excitedly on our school playground. At that time, an old woman threw a water bottle into our playground. I asked her, Why did you dump trash into the playground? but she went off and wasn t even listening. I was upset because she thoughtlessly dumped trash into our playground. I picked up the dumped water bottle and threw it into the garbage can, and then I swept up with a broom. I felt like the playground was a happy place. I felt happy and refreshed. I do not want to be that kind of person like the old woman when I grow up.

When I was kindergarten, I was wrong. I was playing an English card game. The tension remained in the classroom. I was very competitive, so I felt nervous. The teacher did not conceal the card as well and I had seen the head of Mouse ! Fortunately, nobody saw the head of mouse , I was worried to continue. The devil in my heart shouted. The teacher gave it to show! Why do not you tell! It is not theft. You can beat this. I was really worried. But the angel of my heart. No matter how he saw the card, you have to be honest always. The Shame of What I Had Done the Day Before I was starving when I heard the sound of the school bell which meant lunch time. We followed my teacher to the cafeteria. My friends and I had been talking about the menu for lunch that day. As soon as I saw the food in the cafeteria, I was horrified. There were steamed vegetables and raw lettuce. I let out a sigh because I had to eat all the vegetables. Thinking of these vegetables made me unconsciously shake my head. Before I knew it, it was my turn already. Ma am, give me very few vegetables, please! I said to the lady but it did not work. Although I tried to get fewer vegetables, I ended up with more than my friends. I got back to my seat and mumbled, Why wouldn t those ladies listen to me? My friends situations were not that different. We were eating the vegetables reluctantly, grumbling our complaints about the menu. I was about to cover my nose to eat the disgusting vegetables, when suddenly, I got a great idea. I put aside all the vegetables and prepared to throw them under the table when nobody was looking. In the meantime, I felt guilty. I could not decide if I was actually able to carry out my plan or not. My heart was beating fast and my hands were trembling. I said to myself, I ll only do this once. I closed my eyes and threw them under the table. I had forgotten the cafeteria incident until the next morning. I was eating breakfast and watching TV as usual. I heard a scream on the TV. A high school student was sandwiched between two cars in a large school playground. It was called Mrs Kim s Playground Accident . The video clip

was about the lady who was only screaming and not even thinking of backing up her car which was responsible for the accident. The girl got seriously injured, though the front car was removed immediately. I was sad. However, the husband of the wrongdoer posted his wife s excuses and the insurance progress report about the accident on the Internet. The victim needed a sincere apology and real medical care at that moment. I thought that the wrongdoer s husband was so selfish because he was only concerned about his own family. After I saw the video clip, I could not help thinking about myself, who threw the food away under the table when my friends and my teacher were not looking, who thought one time would be fine, who ignored the cafeteria lady s concern for us. I felt so much guilt and I regretted what I had done. Integrity means being noble and not being interested in property. Perhaps, people in the old stone age were happier than people in the present because ancient people s minds were probably clean and pure. Greed and competition are the rage in modern society. People easily think that they do not need to care about others as long as their own things are going well. However, we are socialized. I want people to think about the word integrity all the time because we live together in a society. In addition, the incident like Mrs Kim s Accident must never happen again.
