“We have a 10-year-old with autism who has benefited from speech and occupational therapy services, and we really believe in therapists and the work they do,” Carolyn Fogarty said.
They also believe mental health services and medical equipment assistance have not received sufficient funding in the past. Both Ted and Carolyn have family members who struggled with mental health issues and are motivated to support these programs at Sanford.
That’s why the Fogartys pledged $250,000 to the Sanford Health Foundation’s Builders of Excellence Endowment Campaign. This $20 million fundraising effort allows donors to create lasting legacies by establishing a named endowment with a minimum pledge of $10,000, which will be matched by Sanford. The Fogartys created four separate family-named endowments to support pediatric rehabilitation, patient assistance, mental health and purchase of medical equipment. “We want to help with pediatric rehabilitation in any way we can,” Fogarty said. “The patient assistance fund is also near and dear to our hearts because
