Dr. Few says yes. “In South America, specifically Brazil, there is a big emphasis on not using drains following surgery and it’s making its way into operating rooms in the U.S.” When Brazilian plastic surgeons perform a tummy tuck, they often sew the skin back down to the muscle tight enough, prohibiting the incidence of fluid buildup. “This allows better mobility for the patient, so there may be less of a risk of infection.”
The Brazilian Butt Lift caught on stateside and made a bigger, more shapely butt more acceptable, but in Brazil, a larger backend has been en vogue for years. A large percentage of Brazilian women are naturally blessed (many Brazilians are of African descent) with a good rear, which may explain why the skimpy bathing suit is so commonplace.
