SAN DIEGO SYMPHONY

For Middle, High School and College “Hot Shots” Young Artist Competition

San Diego Symphony’s “Hot Shots” Young Artist Competition recognizes young, talented musicians from San Diego County. Along with a cash prize donated by the Advocates for Classical Music, winners of this annual concerto competition may be invited to perform with the orchestra during the following season.

Instrumental Coach

Groups of young musicians in school orchestra and band programs can learn from a pro! Symphony musicians bring their knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to students during sectional rehearsals at the school site.

Open Rehearsals

This free annual concert features some of our community’s most talented young orchestra musicians playing alongside members of the San Diego Symphony.

High school and college-aged students have an exciting and unique opportunity to attend a rehearsal of a Jacobs Masterworks concert. This is a wonderful way for students to see how the conductor and musicians work together to create the highest quality musical performance and artistic experience.
