Objectives:

• Help students to understand and appreciate the nature and properties of food and the cultural, social and economic influences on the evolution of nutritional science, food technology and product development. • To understand and apply scientific principles behind food preparation and the food production process in different settings. • To develop capabilities, values and attitudes with appropriate professional skills to make informed decisions that foster a healthy lifestyle and contribute positively to the social and economic future of a society at various levels .

Nutritionists, Dieticians, Menu Planners, Teachers, Entrepreneurship ,Community Health workers, Food Microbiologists, Chefs, Hotel managers, Caterers, Food Technologists, Researchers, Nutritional Analysts

Eligibility Criteria for selection in Specialization in Food & Nutrition:

• Students should have secured 3CGPA (in semesters 1-4) with 70% marks in the subject of Food & Nutrition and 80% attendance till 4th semester.

• Students must have studied and passed English & Chemistry with good result in semesters 1-4

• The eligible candidates will have to qualify in written test and interview. Selection will be conditional on availability of seats.
