The Samaritans Hong Kong

Established in Hong Kong in 1974, the Samaritans provides confidential emotional support to people who are suicidal or are in general distress. At the Samaritans, we envision a society in which fewer people die by suicide, and where people are able to explore their own feelings, and acknowledge and respect the feelings of others. Our unpaid volunteers support the operation of our 24-hour multilingual hotline service. The Samaritans has been relying on the public’s generosity to continue providing services that make a difference in the lives of people we serve. We have been reaching out to local secondary students to empower our youth with listening and peer support skills; we also provide emotional support to people bereaved by suicide.
