MANUFACTURING We are always pushing the outer limits of new manufacturing technologies. We use the latest in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to turn our own aluminum and plastic trim pieces, wind checks, shims and other rod components. This allows us to tightly control the precision and quality of every part while increasing efficiency in our work flow. It’s about as high-tech as you can get – and produces a better, more consistent product, every time.
DESIGN IPC,® ART,™ TET, FRS and the many other design and manufacturing technologies and protocols that go into building the most advanced fishing rods on earth didn’t come about by accident – or by trial and error. We use sophisticated CAD programs like 3D Solidworks in the design and modeling of every rod, handle and custom component part to achieve the ultimate level of precision.

It takes over 30 pairs of hands to complete three-dozen different steps in the manufacturing, assembly and finishing of a St. Croix rod. ICE ROD STRIKE INDICATOR SYSTEM – HOW IT WORKS:

St. Croix’s strike indicator system is adjustable, so its sensitivity level can accommodate different lure sizes. To make the bobber more sensitive, push the spring forward through the grommet. To make it less sensitive, push it back. (illustration no. 1) The system is most sensitive when there is a 30-degree bend (position 2) in the spring. To find the bottom, lower the jig until the indicator returns to position 1. Then, either slowly reel up once or lift the rod slightly until the indicator is back to position 2. (illustration no. 2)
