Hello... Welcome to Salisbury Arts Centre: a place dedicated to arts, people and making imaginations fly. We will be continuing improvements to our facilities in August with new entry doors and a much needed overhaul of our toilets! Please note that the building will be closed from Sunday 9 August to Friday 4 September but you will be able to book tickets online or over the phone.

Booking & Access We are open Tuesday Saturday 10am - 3pm 01722 321744 www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk Tickets may be posted for 50p. Tickets may be reserved for performances and films for up to 4 working days. Concessions apply to under 26 year olds, full-time students, over 65 year olds and disability benefits claimants. Essential Companions go free. Members receive ÂŁ1 off up to 2 tickets per event (4 for Family Members). Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Refunds and exchanges only apply if an event is cancelled. Front row seats are reserved on the tiered rake seating for wheelchair users and essential companions and those who aren't able to climb the steps. Due to high demand for front row seats we regret we're not able to reserve additional seats. Infrared or induction loop systems are available.

Par ticipants have discovered new talents, grown in confidence and sparked pride and admiration in their communities . We’re determined for those projects to continue but with the recent loss of £89,500 of Wiltshire Council fund ing we’re facing a real challenge. Your response has been overwhelm ingly supportive. We can see and hear how passionately you share our belief that communities thrive when imagina tions fly. An opportunity to be immersed in spectacular 360° video footage of Sue Austin’s underwater wheelchair. Featuring groundbreaking technology, her work can be viewed as entrancing experiences on Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets and projected onto ethereal installations. Immersed in 360 workshop Wednesday 6 May | 10am - 4pm Get your hands on the latest 360 filmmaking equipment to capture, edit and view a short 360 film in this one day workshop.

Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival Exhibitions

Friday 22 May - Saturday 6 June A double bill of exhibitions exploring the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Syria. ‘Syria: Humanity in Conflict’ was first shown at Imperial War Museum North in 2014 and features images by award-winning photographer Ibrahim Malla. ‘Syria’s Vulnerable’ features prints by George Butler, drawn as a record of the horrors endured by residents of a small town in northern Syria.

Homegrown: Worth Fighting For? Monday 15 June Saturday 8 August

An exhibition of works created within our building by resident artists, workshop leaders and participants. This year the work is inspired by the theme Worth Fighting For? The exhibition opens on the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. Come and see what happens when writers, dancers, filmmakers, ceramicists, feltmakers and more put their creative minds together. MUSIC Altar Club is a blasting series of Ska, Reggae, Indie, Pop and Punk. May Altar Club features eclectic HipHop collective Sounds of Harlowe. MUSIC Fresh from the release of their new album The Fade in Time, Sam Lee & Friends present an ambitious and exciting Folk blend. Since bursting onto the Folk scene, Sam Lee has won the 2011 Arts Foundation prize, 2012 FRoots Magazine Album of the Year and been nominated for a Mercury Prize. Featuring Japanese koto and Klezmeresque cello, the new album extends the borders of their music beyond its national boundaries. Expect a radical reinterpretation of the British Folk tradition. The HandleBards Tuesday 30 June

THEATRE A fast-paced and family-friendly outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, powered by bike! The HandleBards travel by bicycle to perform Shakespeare. They’ve travelled over 3,000 miles on their bikes and performed to over 10,000 happy audience members. In Hamlet they’ll be putting their own unique comedic stamp on Shakespeare’s iconic exploration of the human condition. Enjoy four actors playing all the parts in Director James Farrell’s wild 1930s indiefolk frolic. Please note this is an outdoor event. In the event of extreme weather it may be cancelled. A celebration of 50 years of vibrant and energetic music from The Mahotella Queens.

Salisbury’s biggest arts festival for 1318 year olds, programmed by young people for young people and taking over the whole Arts Centre building and grounds. Featuring quality music performances and loads of great workshops to take part in, this is the place to hang out and kick-start your summer holiday after the end of the school term.

The Mahotella Queens are true legends. Together with the Makhona Tsothle Band and the late Mahlatini, they invented Mbaqanga: a potent mix of various South African and imported styles. Expect a live show full of dance, joy and energy as the group celebrates 50 years on stage.

The cycling minstrel will also find room in his cycle trailer for his favourite ukulele on which he’ll perform works by JS Bach.
