Quyn, Class of 2021

Hello! I’m Quyn McCaffrey, class of 2021, and I just started my junior year! So much has happened already this year: the awards assembly and the walkathon, just to name two. I was so excited that we got to do the walkathon this year, and it was so much fun this time around! Song Contest is already fast approaching, and this year the Jonas Juniors are coming for first place! We have been practicing nonstop and we really think we have what it takes to come out on top this year. Song Contest is truly one of my favorite SSHS traditions, and it always blows my mind how much effort all the grades put forward to make the event the most spectacular of our lives! It’s really incredible to see all the Pandas come together and show the true sisterhood that this school displays so powerfully.

Over the summer, I took part in the Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program for rising juniors and seniors. I found it so powerful to see the message of sisterhood so wonderfully reflected in a group of young women, and it reminded me so much of Saint Saviour. On my application to Girls Who Code, I had written about the strong all-girl community found at SSHS and I was so happy to see that they had accepted my application based on the words I wrote. Now, because of this wonderful experience over the summer, I have a passion for computer science and plan to pursue that in the future! It’s so beautiful to see that my school has such a motivation to lead women to greatness. When I walk through the doors every morning, I know that my day is going to be filled with positive people who love and support my ambitions and plans.

My junior year already has been so full, and hearing advice from the seniors has been helpful, particularly their advice about how to navigate a year that is so vital to my future.

I knew from the first moment that I walked into Saint Saviour that it was the right place for me, and now, three years into this journey, I still experience the warm sense of community I felt at the beginning when I was a mere freshman.
