Art Therapist, Cleveland Clinic

Associate of Pre-Nursing, Cuyahoga Community College Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Chamberlain College of Nursing Resident of Fairview Park, OH

Kelly demonstrates empathetic justice by treating all of her patients equally and respecting the differences of the caregivers that she leads at the Cleveland Clinic. As an assistant nurse manager at Cleveland Clinic-Fairview Hospital, Kelly has taken on the passion of quality of care and patient safety. As a new nurse, Kelly recognized a disconnect from the safety initiatives put in place from the actual practice of the nurse at the bedside. She attends multiple monthly meetings pertaining to quality and safety initiatives that promote better care for the community. These meetings advocate for not only the patient but also the bedside caregiver, making sure their ideas are heard and that the initiatives put in place better their practice. She was recognized with the 2017 Cleveland Clinic Safety Award for decreasing falls on her unit by 52%. She works towards initiatives that have been recognized within the leadership of Cleveland Clinic to promote better care of patients. She places the needs of her patients and families above her own.
