ACTIVE, CREATIVE, PLAYFUL

Your child will be exploring in a wide range of materials such as drawing, painting, mixed media, fibers, performance, wearables, and animation. Each session features different projects, so students can sign up for multiple weeks.

WHAT MAKES OUR MULTI-ARTS CAMPS SPECIAL: • For each course, we select a theme and structure projects and exploration around that idea. Our youngest creators are learning and researching concepts, bringing their points of view to life through the projects they make. And, be ready, they make A LOT of work!!! • Our museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, is an integral part of students’ experiences, and virtual visits to the museum are a part of each class. Be prepared to have your child teach you about their favorite pieces in our collection! • We believe being active fuels imagination, and guarantee that students will not just be sitting in front of their computer all day. Campers venture into the real world often to gain inspiration and materials for their projects. • Our instructors are not only amazing mentors and teachers, but have robust artistic practices themselves. Each class has one instructor and one classroom assistant allowing for a 7 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio.

AGES 4-6 WITH ADULT SUPERVISION* ONE-WEEK SESSIONS MON-FRI, 9 A.M.-11 A.M. These camps provide a playful, stimulating environment for our youngest campers to grow as creative, unique individuals. Using a variety of traditional and contemporary approaches, students experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed-media, and design. Students are also provided with time for play through music and movement. Through the process of looking and creating, four to six-year-olds gain a better understanding of the process of making in addition to how and why art is made. These key principles help students to gain confidence in their own work and build on their individual strengths for future classes. * This online course requires one adult to be present in the room with the camper while camp is in session in order to support and facilitate the child’s participation in all synchronous and asynchronous activities.
