SPN once again bypassed coverage of the 63rd Saints Intramural Super Bowl Championship held last month on campus. And, too bad for them because they missed a great flag football game. Plus, it was a game, where Seniors were notably absent from the championships. “Overall, it was an awe inspiring amazing game,” reports Deacon Richard Hardick O.S.A., the school’s Intramural Director. Championship action saw Captain Mike Goodridge’s Junior squad, Hogar Infan-trill overpower Captain Josh Heid’s Sophomores, the Mountain Lions 48-26. Deacon Hardick went on to praise both teams: “The game featured many great spectacular athletic receptions along with dazzling dynamic runs. The determination an sportsmanship show by both teams was remarkable and certainly impressive.” Icon sportswriter Grantland Rice couldn’t have said it better. Most Valuable Players for the Hogar Infan-trill were Mike Goodridge, Nick Heid, and Tim Spencer. Mountain Lion’s MVPs

were Josh Heid, Noah DiNapoli and James Downey. There was no shortage of kudos after the game. Congratulations and thanks were offered to team homeroom teachers: Mr. Vladimir Bachysnski (first place) and Mr. Steven Granados (runner up). Shining the spotlight where few sports reports seldom venture, Deacon Hardick offered a big cheer and “a high degree of gratitude to the outstanding effort of the referees who put together and excellent game program.” Super Bowl refs were Brandon Shaw Cedeno, Sean Coyle, Sam Flaming and Dominic Vinti. No one left the field unpraised. Cheers to student coaches Matt Lloyd (winners) and Ryan Arroyo, who has next year to fall back on. And, certainly not least to jump on the pile of praise is Saints Alum Dad Mr. William Hill, who provided excellent photographic coverage of the Saints Super Bowl.

WOW—All-world Junior Nick Heid proves correct the adage that if QBs made better throws there would be fewer spectacular catches.
