4th Annual Indiana Conference on Citizenship

On November 8, 2018, Sagamore Institute will host the Fourth Annual Indiana Conference on Citizenship. This year’s conference will explore the new definition of success for corporate citizenship: social impact. There is much evidence to support the claim that Indiana is the epicenter of philanthropy. We have one of the largest foundations in the world (Lilly Endowment), we have the leading philanthropy research and academic center (Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy), we have a statewide network of community foundations, and so much more. We also have a rich history of corporate citizenship stretching back to the days of Colonel Eli Lilly and Madame C.J. Walker. Recently, Lilly Endowment CEO Clay Robbins challenged our state’s companies to consider high-priority needs as a part of their strategic philanthropy. This vision builds on our rich heritage but requires new thinking and new skills. At this year’s conference, we’ll convene Sagamores of the Wabash, millenial leaders, corporate officers, and others to begin laying the groundwork to position Indiana as a national leader in 21st century corporate citizenship.
